The results are in, and soon we’ll announce the winner of The Wedding Community’s Picture of the Year 2017. Before we do we’d like to thank all of the photographers who entered pictures for our Picture of the Day feature. We really are so grateful for the continued support of a feature which has become so popular. We’d also like to congratulate all our finalists again, and give a special mention to the photographers whose pictures came second and third in this year’s vote…
2nd Place
This beautiful picture by Peter Anslow Photography took second place. Taken at Sara and Sabaean’s wedding at Stirk House Hotel, the picture perfectly captures the emotion of the moment after Sara’s father, Nasser, had walked her down the aisle…
“Nasser’s love for his daughter is obvious as he holds Sara, eyes closed and concentrating. The bridesmaid is struggling to hold back the tears, unlike Sara’s mum, Catherine. She is standing at the far right already consumed with tears and emotion just by looking at her husband and daughter as they embrace.”
3rd Place
Andy Griffiths Photography came third with this fantastic picture from Julie and Mike’s wedding at Thornton Manor. The couple arranged a confetti canon and dry ice smoke for during their first dance as a surprise for their guests. Luckily they told Andy beforehand so he was ready to get the shot…
“I work in a natural way so this was taken during the first dance. There was no posing — this is just as it happened. Julie and Mike were a great couple and thankfully danced exactly where I needed them to be.”
