And the winner of The Wedding Community’s Picture of the Year 2013 is… DSB Creative!
Our congratulations go to DSB Creative, the winner of our 2013 Picture of the Year competition. Taken at the wedding of Dave and Anna, the gale force winds on the day created the perfect opportunity for this picture, which Damian of DSB took whilst laying in nettles and hard cow dung! On the count of three Anna and her bridesmaids released their umbrellas which flew off into the heavens, and Damian timed the moment perfectly, capturing a shot which is “almost perfectly symmetrical”.
Damian was delighted when he heard his picture had won, and wanted to thank everyone who voted…
“First of all, I am still shocked. I was absolutely ‘chuffed’ to bits when I won picture of the month last year, which I did not expect at all. When the phone rang I answered nervously, and my first thought was maybe I’d come third at best, as it was such a strong competition and all the other pictures were amazing. I had my favourites within the 12 entered, which were such strong images, so when I heard I’d won — jeez, I was shocked then super happy, and I could not stop laughing down the phone, much to Kim’s amusement!
“The support I had from friends, previous clients, new clients, and people I don’t know who have voted has been overwhelming, so I thank them all for the support and I am so so humbled by the fact that people have gone out of the way to vote for that pic. Special thanks go to Anna, Laura and Rachel for being ‘up for’ this shot, despite the crazy weather conditions — you guys rock!!
“Something else I need to mention is since I first submitted this image to The Wedding Community I have generated lot’s more traffic to my website and have also had so many enquiries from clients who have mentioned they’d got in touch after seeing that pic, so submitting your images to competitions like this has its rewards and puts a continuous smile on your face when you hear you have won; mine is still a mile wide!
