Our congratulations go to Katie Sidell Photography, the winner of our May 2019 Picture of the Month award. This incredible picture received the most votes in our poll and becomes the fifth picture to go through to our Picture of the Year vote in January. Taken at the end of Amy and James’ wedding at West Tower in Lancashire, Katie explained the lengths she had to go to to get the shot…
Lost in the Moment
“Amy and James married earlier this year at the enchanting West Tower in Aughton. It was a relaxed, fun-filled day from start to finish… Amy and James just seemed to have their priorities firmly in place — to celebrate their love with their family and friends. No drama, no stress. They’d planned some lovely surprises for their guests throughout the day, including a singing waiter as desserts were served, cigars and sparklers for everyone later in the evening, and then, the final surprise… a fabulous display of fireworks.
“The weather had been changeable throughout the day, but fortunately the rain just about held off for the display itself. I was conscious of being particularly on point for the final flourish of fireworks, and actually ended up lying flat on my back in a puddle to capture this one! It was absolutely worth it though to preserve this wonderful memory for them, made all the more special when Amy threw her arms in the air, completely lost in the moment.”
