And the winner is… Jenna Carpenter Photography!
This fantastic picture by Jenna Carpenter Photography received the most votes in our May Picture of the Day competition, and becomes the fifth picture to go through to our Picture of the Year vote in January. A delighted Jenna told us a little bit about how the photo came about…
“Catriona and Tristan’s wedding was my first of 2013, and what a brilliant wedding to start the season!
“They married at St. Mary’s Church, Staveley-in-Cartmel, and had their reception at the Castle Green Hotel in Kendal, Cumbria.
“I first met Catriona (Miss Norrie) back when I was in secondary school and she had the job of teaching me maths! After a teachers’ get together only a couple of months before the wedding, my photography had been recommended to her and I had the pleasure of photographing my ex-teacher’s wedding day!
“The photograph was taken just as we pulled up to take some couple photos between the church and reception. I wanted to take a photo of the couple in the car, but I always try and find different angles and positions to make my photographs more unique. I managed to capture this photo just at the right time and angle, and it soon became one of my favourites from their day.
“Thank you to Catriona and Tristan for allowing me to be part of your special day, and for everyone’s support with my work.”
