Magical

“I took this image of Sindy and Ross during the infamous ‘Beast from the East’ snow storm on the 2nd March, 2018. Often I have used flash to try and make heavy rain look like snow, but this was the genuine article! Having been out on the golf course at Essendon Country Club (strangely quiet that day!) during the day for some snow shots, I grabbed them again in the evening to do a night shot in the still descending snow.

“The shot was accomplished with two flashes. One bare flash positioned about 10m behind the couple to light as much snow as possible, and the second one with a grid on it just behind the couple to throw some rim light on their faces. I’ve now shot approx. 250 weddings and this still remains the only snowy one, such being life here in South East England! Everything about the day was magical, except the constant worry that we might get snowed in and have to stay the night at a venue without accommodation on-site! Thankfully some careful driving saw me get home safely.”
