And the winner is… Karli Harrison Photography!
Congratulations to Karli Harrison Photography, our first Picture of the Month winner of 2014. Karli is now the first photographer to win two Picture of the Month awards, with her previous entry going on to win her Picture of the Year 2012. Karli told us that she probably wouldn’t have even taken this stunning picture if it hadn’t been raining outside…
“Amelia and Danny got married at Mitton Hall in July last year. During the afternoon we went to take a few shots inside the Bridal Suite as it was very wet outside, so sadly we couldn’t use the grounds. Before the pictures Amelia sat down at the end of the bed as her mother and bridesmaid stood over her to use some hairspray on her hair. Even though the room itself was dark, I put my flash on a stand behind Amelia which illuminated the hairspray as it came from the can. It was a bit of an experiment but the resulting image was this. It ticked all the boxes — gorgeous bride, stunning room, and a natural moment. I’m so glad it was raining that day or I would have probably never taken this shot.”
