Why did you have an engagement shoot?
“The last thing we wanted was to look awkward and uncomfortable in our wedding photographs, so having the opportunity to spend some time getting used to having a camera pointing at us seemed like a good idea. Having the shoot also meant we could choose one of the photos and have it enlarged, so at the wedding reception all the guests get to sign around the border instead of in a formal guestbook (I never know what to write in those things!), which we thought was a really cool idea!”
Do you feel that having an engagement shoot helped with having your wedding pictures taken?
“As we got to know Karli beforehand, I don’t think either of us felt apprehensive in the slightest on the day. I think that feeling comfortable around your photographer means you let your guard down, which in turn hopefully leads to more natural looking photos. At the end of the day it’s all about trying to capture the fun and a sense of what it was like to be there.”
