Living Coral is an animating, playful coral hue with a golden undertone that evokes energy and life. It is warm and exciting, which is why I am delighted to share some ideas of how you can add Living Coral wedding styling to your big day.
I was over the moon when Pantone released Living Coral as its colour of the year for 2019. Living Coral is not only a vibrant, energetic colour to work with, it also reminds us to take care of our planet, which can only be a good thing.
As beautiful as Living Coral is, it can be a difficult colour to match. Therefore, my top tip would be to combine it with soft pinks, ivory and green within your floral arrangements and bouquet, then add aspects of Living Coral hues to your wedding tables using coloured linens and charger plates to enhance the vibrancy.
Décor
To create a romantic, fairy tale atmosphere, create backdrops around your venue with soft chiffon fabrics in a pale coral tone. Then, use these to show off hoops decorated with foliage and flowers including hypericum and Miss Piggy roses. I recommend wrapping the hoops in a soft sage green ribbon because it will blend into the background, making the coral colours the star of the show.
Tip: Using fabric for drapes or table linens is a really cost-effective way to introduce blocks of colour and tie looks together. To get the same coverage and impact using flowers alone would be incredibly expensive.
Ceremony Styling
Limewashed chiavari chairs dressed with aisle posies of foliage and Miss Piggy roses would be a huge Living Coral styling statement. Tie posies to wedding ceremony chairs with long, trailing ribbons in peach, apricot and coral tones to add some bolder colour.
You could give these little posies as gifts after your wedding day, or, for a thrifty re-use, why not use them on your dinner tables later in the day?

Wedding Bouquets
When it comes to Living Coral wedding bouquets the key is to go big, bold and colourful. Combine a few coral tones together to create a colourful bouquet that will really stand out as you walk down the aisle.
Include the soft apricot of roses within other aspects of your wedding day attire, such as a hair comb to ensure that even when you aren’t carrying your bouquet you still have a touch of Living Coral on you.
Chill-Out Spaces
You can achieve instant Living Coral WOW by choosing cushions and throws in peach and apricot tones to complement the Pantone colour of the year.
Create a chill-out area or two with throws and cushions combined with white inflatable sofas and paper furniture. This will showcase the Living Coral wedding styling vibe perfectly whilst also creating a cosy space where you and your guests can relax.
Table Styling
This year we want to try to make our floristry department as sustainable as possible, so we are investigating lots of different ideas for living table centrepieces.
Our terrariums are the perfect living table decoration when planted up. Plant white cyclamen inside a terrarium and cover the pot with grit or moss for an instant centrepiece that works with any colour scheme. Place terrariums on Living Coral coloured linen to complete the look.
